The Cantell and Gladys Merrell Education Scholarship Foundation is the charitable arm of Cantell Lodge #1417 and Gladys Merrell Temple #1049 in Alliance, Ohio. To honor the legacy of our commitment to excellence in education, the Lodge established the Foundation with the purpose of awarding financial awards to those who may need just a little financial push. The Art & Dr. Gloria Malone Memorial Scholarship and the Homer Locket Remembrance Scholarship were established in June 2023. The Scholarships are intended for students who embody a love of learning and have demonstrated their potential for significant achievement. The monetary award provided by this scholarship is meant to help young people attain victory.

Welcome to the Cantell and Gladys Merrell Education Scholarship Foundation, Inc. Established in 2023, our Foundation is dedicated to helping students achieve their educational goals by expanding access to scholarship opportunities.

Rooted in a strong tradition of service and community support, we proudly serve the Alliance, Ohio area by awarding scholarships to graduating high school seniors. Our goal is to help ease the financial burden of higher education and create pathways to success for students who are ready to take the next step.

Since our founding, the Foundation has awarded eight tuition-based scholarships. This milestone reflects our growing commitment to supporting students with talent, ambition, and potential.

Looking ahead, we remain focused on expanding our reach and strengthening our impact. Our vision is to become a trusted local scholarship foundation known for making a meaningful difference in the lives of students and the community we serve.
